From conceptual sketches, branding exercises, ux, and prototyping, I helped launch a reimagined video-on-demand platform and companion app for Fox that was unlike any other on the market.

Project Overview

Cutting the cord is real. In a world where a new generation is increasingly online, how do you gain attention (and grow)? Fox asked Huge Inc to reimagine its digital platform and I was part of an amazing team as a Senior Interaction Designer.

Our goal was to rebrand FOX’s multi-platform experience as a single distinct product – so wherever you interacted with Fox, you felt a distinct brand voice and had a seamless, delightful experience.

As a senior interaction designer, I primarily helped with the creation of a smart mobile companion app for live TV viewing. I also helped with the onboarding for the personalized VOD experience. My contributions included sketching ideas for the vision of the platform architecture and defining/designing new and dynamic second-screen experiences – games, quizzes, and interactive content.

Since its launch, the iOS app’s ratings improved from 2.5 to 4.5 stars on iTunes and increased the number of episodes viewed by over 500%.

OnBoarding Experience Prototype

I was a key designer and prototyper for the FoxNow onboarding experience. This was a complex process as it required users to connect their cable network and setup an account. So, we also wanted to make it fun and personalized by allowing them to select shows they love.

Co-Viewing Experience

I created dozens of wireframes and designs for the co-viewing experience for FoxNow. This second-screen experience would sync with audio cues of Fox Shows playing on TV. Then, engaging content like quizzes, shopping, and social would appear on the user’s app (iPhone, iPad Android, etc.).
